Our Story

Two close friends, Dylan and Joel, were fed up with the amount of plastic, unhealthy foods and unhealthy lifestyles that the western world advertises daily. They both travelled immensely and experienced the effects of plastic pollution firsthand.

Through behavioural economics, Dylan investigated the gap between intention and behaviour when it came to plastic buying behaviour for his Master thesis in Economics. Both of them also used bamboo toothbrushes regularly, but all companies on the market offered rectangular sticks that provided a terrible brushing experience.

Founded in 2019, Bambiibrush was created to help make everyday products sustainable, aesthetic, ergonomic and inspiring. They have partnered with Australia's biggest festivals, hotels and airlines.

Since, Bambiibrush has teamed up with AUSMAP Microplastics Australia to evolve the lifestyle brand into an educational platform, to help businesses, schools and communities minimise their plastic footprint.

Our Mission

Bambiibrush was created to constantly remind people each day when they wake up to brush, and each evening before they go to sleep, to make meaningful choices and to live a sustainable life. We’re focused on one vision: to change what you, and society, think about plastic. We strive to inspire moments of optimism and happiness through our brand and through our actions. We strive for a world where resources are utilised in a sustainable way to ensure all current and future generations are provided for.

The Effects

Plastic production and consequently pollution is on the rise. Plastic toothbrushes cannot be recycled and they take at least 500 years to decompose into microplastics. Australians use approximately 98.4 million toothbrushes per year, which equates to 1500 tonnes of non-recyclable plastic that goes either to landfill or into our oceans. Every single toothbrush you have ever used is still out there somewhere.

Stop using plastic toothbrushes.
